Alicia Taylor
Birth Doula, Infant Feeding Specialist, & Co-Owner of North Raleigh Doulas
Alicia Taylor has devoted her life to empowering families as they navigate the joys and challenges of parenthood. As the co-owner of North Raleigh Doulas, a Triangle-based birth and family support company, Alicia blends her extensive background in early childhood education with her expertise in birth work to provide holistic, compassionate care for expecting and postpartum families.
With over 15 years of experience in early childhood education—including roles as an early interventionist and inclusive preschool program manager—Alicia’s dedication to supporting children and families runs deep. She became a Certified Labor Doula and Certified Infant Feeding Specialist to extend her care to parents during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. Most recently, Alicia earned her certification as a VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) Specialist, helping families navigate the complexities of VBAC with confidence and clarity.
Alicia’s passion for birth work stems from her own parenting journey, which began in 2016. While she appreciated the wealth of resources available during pregnancy, she noticed a gap in support once the baby arrived. This realization, paired with her family’s legacy of four generations of birth workers, drives her commitment to nurturing families during this transformative time.
When she’s not supporting families, Alicia enjoys crafting organic tea blends, spending quality time with her husband and superstar kids, and carrying on her family’s tradition of celebrating the beauty and importance of birth work.
Fun Fact: Alicia’s holistic approach to family care reflects her belief that birth is not just about welcoming a baby—it’s about building strong, supported families from the very beginning.
