Frequently Asked Questions

These are the things parents usually want to know before they hit “buy” — timing, partner access, epidurals, C-sections, refunds, and whether this actually helps in real life.

1 When should I take an online childbirth class?

Most families start in the second or early third trimester so they have time to absorb the basics and practice comfort measures. The best part of online learning is you can start anytime — and then rewatch the “I need this now” lessons as your due date gets closer.

2 Will this help if I’m doing a hospital birth with monitors, induction, or an epidural?

Yes — and that’s exactly why many parents choose it. You’ll learn how hospital birth actually works: induction options, monitoring, pain relief choices, and how to stay flexible when the plan changes.

3 How do I know when it’s time to go to the hospital?

We cover the most common decision points: early labor vs active labor, how to time contractions, what “progressing” often looks like, and the “call your provider now” signs that matter.

4 What pain relief options do you cover (epidural, nitrous, IV meds, natural options)?

All of the above. You’ll get a clear, non-judgy breakdown of medicated and unmedicated options, plus practical comfort tools you can still use even if you choose (or need) an epidural.

5 What if I end up with a C-section (planned or unplanned)?

You’ll learn what to expect before, during, and after a cesarean — including recovery basics, pain control questions to ask, partner roles, and common early postpartum needs.

6 Baby blues vs postpartum depression/anxiety — do you cover mental health?

Yes. We explain what’s common in the early days, what’s a sign you need more support, and how to talk to your provider. You’ll leave with clear “when to reach out” language, not vague reassurance.

7 When can we have sex again after birth?

We cover the common medical guidance, plus the part people don’t say out loud: what healing can feel like, how to take it slow, and how to communicate with your partner without pressure.

8 Can my partner (or support person) access the course too?

Yes. Many couples watch together, and many partners do a “crash course” closer to birth. The content includes partner-specific support tools for labor and postpartum — not just “be supportive.”

9 How long do I get access, and can I watch on my phone?

You’ll have 12 months of access, and you can watch on phone, tablet, or computer. Most lessons are designed to be easy to squeeze into real life (yes, even the “2 a.m. awake” phase).

10 Do you include a birth plan template or printable tools?

Yes — you’ll get practical tools like birth plan guidance and other resources designed to help you communicate your preferences while staying flexible (because birth is unpredictable).

11 Is this HSA/FSA eligible?

Often, yes — many plans reimburse childbirth education. You’ll receive a receipt you can submit to your provider. (Because every plan is different, we recommend confirming with your administrator.)

12 Do you offer a money-back guarantee?

Yes — we offer a 15-day guarantee (as long as you’ve completed less than 10% of the course). We want you to feel good about your purchase, not stuck with it.

13 Is financial assistance available?

Yes. As part of our nonprofit mission, we reserve a limited number of reduced-cost course spots each month for families who need support.

If cost is a barrier, please email kathryn@nurturednest.org and share the amount you’re able to contribute (suggested $25 or more).

This helps us sustainably continue offering accessible education while ensuring families who receive access are ready to fully use and benefit from the course.

Still have questions?

Email help@nurturednest.org and we’ll help you choose the right course (or bundle) for your stage and goals.
