Kelly Rutan
Kelly received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Juris Doctorate degree from American University's Washington College of Law. She went on to become a Certified Postpartum & Infant Care Doula as well as a Certified Infant Feeding Specialist and has been providing postpartum doula support to families in this area since 2015.
Prior to her career as a doula, Kelly spent years as a workaholic litigation attorney, trying (and often failing) to balance the demands of a busy career with a fulfilling family life. It was the lack of quality, caring support during her own postpartum experience that convinced her that new families needed and deserved more. She followed her passion into doula work, started Doulas of Raleigh, and has never looked back.
Kelly is the proud mom of Jake and Molly and the lucky wife of the most supportive husband ever, Jason. She is mildly obsessed with her two rescue pups and enjoys taking them on long walks all over the Cary greenways. When she is not busy supporting new parents and babies, she loves to curl up with a good book and a strong cup of coffee (or three).
