A Unified Approach to Child & Family Well-being
Born from Collaboration and Care. The Nurture & Bloom Foundation was born from the collaboration between Dr. Melinda Beavers, a pediatrician and mother of three, and Kathryn Dunn, an early childhood educator and mother of two. What began as a patient–provider relationship grew into a friendship—and then into a shared mission to create a better way to support families.
Together, they envisioned a model that bridges healthcare, education, and community. What started as Kathryn’s early work developing Nurtured Nest—a digital parent education platform—became the foundation for a broader nonprofit effort to reach families everywhere. Today, Nurtured Nest lives on as one of the Foundation’s core programs, alongside initiatives that bring family education and coaching directly into pediatric care and early learning environments.
We believe that children thrive when their entire support system—parents, healthcare providers, and educators—work together with shared knowledge and aligned approaches. Through our integrated programs, we're creating a seamless network of support that meets families wherever they are in their adventure, from the first positive pregnancy test through the critical early years of development.

Through academic collaboration, we track outcomes and advance the field of family support. Our research informs policy, refines program models, and contributes to statewide systems that truly serve children and families.
How Our Courses Fund Our Mission
Nurtured Nest began as a simple idea: that parents and caregivers deserve expert-sourced, judgment-free education they can actually use. Today, that idea powers one of the programs of the Nurture & Bloom Foundation.
When you purchase a Nurtured Nest course, you’re doing more than learning—you’re helping us grow our impact. Every dollar goes right back into our mission: expanding access to evidence-informed parent education, supporting educators and pediatric professionals, and creating new tools for families who need them most.
We don’t operate for profit; we operate for purpose. Your participation helps us make high-quality education available to more families, build new community partnerships, and invest in future programs that strengthen child and family well-being.
Evidence-Informed Today, Building the Evidence Base for Tomorrow
We design every program using evidence-informed methods—drawing from established research, clinical guidance, and real-world family needs. As a grassroots effort, we’re also investing in the long game: standing up a rigorous evaluation arm so our work can become evidence-supported and, over time, evidence-based.
Evidence-Informed by Design
Curriculum and coaching are built from peer-reviewed literature, pediatric best practices, and behavior-change frameworks. We translate the science into judgment-free, practical tools families and professionals can actually use.
Transparent About Where We Are
“Evidence-based” status requires time, funding, and published outcomes. We’re honest about that. Until then, we commit to using the best available research and continuously improving through feedback, implementation data, and quality checks.
Integrated Research & Evaluation
Under the Bloom & Nest umbrella, we’re embedding measurement into real care settings—tracking parent skills, stress, child regulation, and service connection—so we can refine what works and publish results in partnership with academic collaborators.
Bottom line: We operate with rigor now and are building the formal evidence to match—so families, providers, and funders can trust the impact.
