Dr. Alexis Elias is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and the passionate owner of Empower Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. With a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from Kent State, a Master’s in Physical Therapy from Youngstown State University, and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Chatham University, Dr. Elias brings over 15 years of experience to her practice.
Starting her career in orthopedics, Alexis shifted her focus to pelvic floor rehabilitation in 2018 after relocating to the Triangle. Her personal journey with pelvic pain and dysfunction following her second pregnancy inspired her to specialize in this often-overlooked area of care. Today, she dedicates her career to helping others find relief, education, and empowerment through personalized pelvic health solutions.
Dr. Elias addresses a wide range of pelvic health concerns, including pregnancy and postpartum care, diastasis recti, prolapse, painful sex, incontinence, scar management, constipation, transgender pelvic health, and more. She works with individuals of all genders and ages, from teens to older adults, using a collaborative, patient-centered approach to optimize function and quality of life.
In addition to her work as a physical therapist, Alexis is also trained as a birth doula, enhancing her ability to support patients during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. When she’s not working, Alexis enjoys spending time with her family and continuing to expand her knowledge in this rapidly evolving field.
