Margaret Marsden Fryer brings 25 years of expertise as a Nurse-Midwife and Certified Lactation Specialist to her compassionate care for women and families. With degrees from Duke University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Master’s in Nursing (Midwifery) from Oregon Health Sciences University, Margaret’s dedication to maternal health is rooted in deep knowledge and experience.
Margaret’s career has spanned diverse settings, including hospitals, community health centers, private practices, and birthing centers. Currently a hospital-based Nurse-Midwife, she has a particular passion for supporting women with perinatal mood challenges such as anxiety, depression, or previous traumatic births. Her holistic approach emphasizes nurturing both physical and emotional well-being during pregnancy and postpartum.
A mother of three (including two born at home), Margaret understands the personal side of birth and breastfeeding, which enhances her ability to guide and empower her patients. Outside of her practice, Margaret enjoys running, reading novels, sipping fine wine, attending the theater, and gardening with her husband, Jeff.
